Seems to get away from me and I apologize for the amount of time between posts. So, two for tonight. I would like to congratulate Joel Warren, our new Vice President and our newest Board member Larry Griffith. They join our existing board…Bob Ingoldsby, Bobbi Diller, Debbie Sweetnam, Rick Carr, Ouch Roenigk, Jim Meyer, Art Borland (Director of Finance) and Bob Danehy (Director of Membership).

The Council has contracted with Holbein Inc for the construction of the parking lot in Butler and ground will be broken soon. After the rough in, we will be utilizing the parking lot for the framing of the concrete bridge decking (will need volunteer concrete finishers), bridge beams bids have been awarded and we are coordinating delivery. The beams will need fabricated to fit with the existing 6 beams we already have, they will also need sandblasted and painted. Bridge railing will be ordered within the next couple of weeks and that also will need fabricated.

Stay tuned for posts on work nights and a call out for specific skill sets. Spring is right around the corner and we are devising a plan of attack. Let’s get this bridge built (and out of my yard, lol).

If you interested in volunteering, please send an email to butlerfreeporttrail@yahoo.com.

A big thank you to the Butler Elks Club for their generous donation, it is ear marked to help with the cost of Boy Scout Eagle Projects and Girl Scout Gold Award Projects.
Thanks and Happy Trails
Chris
