Butler-Freeport Community Trail Events Join us at our next Trail Council Meeting on Monday July 7 at 7:00 pm at the Community Meeting Room, Kings Family Restaraunt, Rt 356, Sarver, Pa. Chris President Butler Freeport Community Trail July 19, 2008 Venture Outdoors Adventure Bike Tour of the Butler Freeport Trail Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm The Butler-Freeport Community Trail follows the path of the Butler branch of the Western Pennsylvania Railroad. We'll pass stone quarries and brick kilns along this 12-mile trail. Join us for a ride into Western Pennsylvania's past. Cost: $10.00 member/$20.00 non-member July 26, 2008 Botanical Society Field Trip 10:00 am Registration for Botanical Society field trips is not required. Everyone is welcome, including non-members. Wear shoes that can get wet or muddy, and sun-protections. Trips last 3 to 4 hours but one can leave at any time. For questions, call the field trip leader or Loree Speedy at 724-872-5232. At the end of the ramp, head west or north on PA 356. After roughly 3.5 miles, turn right onto Sarver Road (SR2018) at a traffic light. Continue a little over 1/2 mile, traveling down a hill. After crossing a creek and passing a volunteer fire department on the left, turn left into the bike trail parking area, where we will meet. Notes: This rail-trail has many interesting plants, at every time of the year. Oct 18, 2008 Buffalo Creek Half Marathon on our trail along scenic Buffalo Creek.
